Hi, it’s Eric Schleien again, and in this post, I’ll be sharing about my experience with Sesame Smart Buns created by the Smart Baking Company. The company also has a plain version as well for those who don’t like sesame seeds on their buns. The company also makes Smart Muffins and Smart Cakes.
I didn’t have any burger patties in the house so I decided to make one of my favorite sandwiches with the bun, an egg and cheese sandwich. There were no instructions on how to heat it. All I knew was that the Smart Buns were meant to be kept frozen. So, I put one in my air fryer and gave it my best shot. They came out pretty good.
I also sampled the bun on its own as well.
Ingredients
Purified Water, Proprietary Fiber Blend (Oat Fiber, Corn Fiber, Flax Meal), Eggs, Erythritol, Whey Protein Isolate, Sunflower Oil, Cellulose Gum, Natural Flavor, Sesame Seed, Spices, Potassium Chloride, Salt
Nutrition Facts
So you can see from the nutrition facts, the buns have 0 net carbs and are extremely low carb friendly. However, the one downside is not everyone will be okay consuming even small quantities of Sunflower Oil.
Review Summary
I thought the bun was delicious. The consistency was great. No, it wasn’t as good as a fresh potato bun right out of the oven, but for what it was, it was fantastic. Clearly, this is a very good low carb and keto-friendly alternative to your standard sesame bun.
