Realgood Foods: Stuffed Chicken Spinach & Artichoke

Eric Schleien reviews Realgood Foods: Stuffed Chicken Spinach & Artichoke. Keto-friendly and delicious.

I’m excited to be able to share this review today. Realgood Foods Co. has been one of my favorite Keto friendly food companies for the past few years now. I discovered them when KetoConnect did a review of the original RealGood Pizzas made with Chicken Crust. I’ve been a fan of every single one of their items and was excited when Realgood Food Co. sent me a box of their Spinach & Artichoke Stuffed Chicken Breasts to try and review for this website.

Real Good Foods Stuffed Chicken

Ingredients

Like everything else from Realgood Foods, their ingredient list is clean and healthy.

CHICKEN CRUST (chicken, parmesan cheese), FILLING (artichoke, monterey jack cheese, spinach, onion, parmesan cheese, milk, butter, egg yolk, garlic, lime juice, dijon mustard, salt, black pepper).

Three Different Cooking Methods

While the box says you can cook the Spinach & Artichoke Stuffed Chicken Breasts in either the oven and the microwave, I also decided to use an air-fryer to as a third cooking method. I’ve been a huge fan of the air-fryer the past 6 months. My brother, Zach, did a review of the Ninja Air Fryer for Keto Lion which I encourage you check out if you’re interested in purchasing one or are wondering about the benefits of an air fryer. Quite frankly, it’s something that wasn’t even on my radar screen until about a year ago when my brother convinced me to buy one for myself.

I have found the air fryer has been great for other products from Realgood Foods like their pizzas and poppers so figured this could work too. I also expected that the microwave would be the worst cooking method taste wise, while superior time wise.

So let’s see the results:

Microwave

As expected, cooking the Spinach & Artichoke Stuffed Chicken Breasts in the microwave was my least favorite cooking method. However, I have to say it was surprisingly good for the microwave. There was less crispiness and firmness in the chicken breast and the filling had that microwave aftertaste to it, but surprisingly was very faint. Overall I’d give the microwave taste of this a 6 out of 10 in taste.

Oven

The oven was delicious. I used a baking pan with some aluminum foil and a spritz of avocado oil. I baked it in the oven for the minimum amount of time recommended on the box which turned out to be perfect. The chicken breast had a nice crisp and delicious taste yet moist and soft on the inside. I could not believe how moist the breast was. Part of me expected the chicken to be dry. The filling was fantastic. I could have literally eaten the filling on its own or used it as a dip. It was literally that good! Overall I’d give the Spinach & Artichoke Stuffed Chicken Breasts in the oven a 9.5 out of 10.

Air Fryer

The air fryer method to cook the Spinach & Artichoke Stuffed Chicken Breasts was what I was most looking forward to. I find the pizzas and poppers from Realgood Foods taste better in the air fryer. I cooked the Spinach & Artichoke Stuffed Chicken Breasts at the same temperature and cook time as I did for the oven. I found the taste and consistency almost identical. However, I found the oven allowed the chicken to be just a slight bit more moist leading to me giving the air fryer cooking method for the Spinach & Artichoke Stuffed Chicken Breasts a taste score of 9 out of 5.
