Today, I’m reviewing the Banana Nut Smart Muffins by the Smart Baking Company. The company has recently come out with a new line of products: Smart Muffins. I’ve had the smart cakes before which my girlfriend turned me onto. They’re pretty rad and a delicious snack. When the Smart Baking Company sent us some muffins to sample, I was pretty excited to try these. They’re a bit heftier than the smart cakes. And of course, I already did enjoy the Sesame Smart Buns. I also did a review on the Chocolate Chip Smart Muffins and the Pumpkin Spice Smart Muffins as well.

Review
While I enjoyed the Pumpkin Muffin and the Chocolate Chip Muffin flavors, the banana nut I found pretty gross. While the consistency was fine, the banana extract was too much. The aftertaste was terrible and it tasted more like a banana chemical concoction than an actual banana nut muffin. It’s a shame too because I love banana nut bread and muffins and thought this would be my favorite out of the bunch. I think the company needs to tweak the recipe a bit to make this at the same level of the delicious pumpkin spice which I gave a 9.4 rating. This muffin, unfortunately, disappointed me greatly and I’m sad to say I have to give it a final score of 4.6.
